Hubby's sleep ramblings.

940 pm
Hubby - *mumbling* yup,  sounds like a good idea. ...
Me - huh? what sounds like a good idea?
Hubby - a cover up *mumbles incoherently,  rolls over*

1030 pm
Hubby - *giggles, mumbling*'s funny. ..
Me - what's funny?
Hubby - really is funny if you think about it. ..
Me - what?
Hubby - taking the dogs...
Me - the dogs?
Hubby - yea,  taking them,  it's funny *rolls over snores*

Hubby - *giggles and rolls over, mumbles incoherently at first* that's funny...
Me - what's funny?
Hubby - oh just how that looked
Me - how what looked?
Hubby - just how that was layed out
Me - how what was layed out?
Hubby - oh it was just funny
Me - what?
Hubby - how it looked, like you where sprawled out hanging up side down *giggles*
Me - say what?
Hubby - you were upside down and everything was right side up, it looked funny *giggles, mumbles incoherently, roles over and snores*

9:30pm as I crawl in bed...
Hubby - *giggles and mumbles incoherently*, then says to me - you silly butt.
Me -  what?
Hubby - *mumble incoherently like his mouth is swollen*
Me - huh?
Hubby - *sits up on his side, looks at me eyes open but spaced out, and says (while tracing lines in the air) - That little hump there, you put the timing chain like that. Did you make sure it was top dead center first?  Did you remove that stuff before you start it?
Me - *bursts our laughing*
Hubby - *in a huff,  rolls over and throws the blankets over his head and says* well fine, I don't want to talk to you anyway, jerk. *incoherent mumbling and then silence, mumbling again and then snoring*

Homemade Dog Treats

Ok, so I went looking for homemade dog treats. I found a bunch that where great for rolling out and cutting into bones. But I didn't have any cutter. So I made my own recipe, kind of combining a number of different recipes, and rolled my treats into balls. They are softer centered like a muffin.

You can leave them with soft centers and seal them up tight or you can let them sit in the air 24 hours after baking them. They then become a more crisp/dry treat.

These are people consumption friendly, and gluten free. I hope you (or rather your pup) enjoys!

This makes a very large batch. About 23 dozen (approx. 275 treat balls.) You could cut this recipe in half easily, but I always make a full large batch for my two dogs and my in laws dogs next door when ever I make these.

The dogs love them, and the kids like them too...So it's a win win for snacks.

When I make them I use all the ingredients (including the optional ones).

Moist Ingredients (*Optional):
1/2 Cup Raw Organic Honey
4 Lg Ripe Bananas
1 Can Unsweetened Applesauce (I use organic, or homemade natural)
1 Can Pumpkin Puree (I use organic, or homemade puree, NOT pie mix)
1 Cup Organic Ground Flax
1 Cup Peanut Butter (organic/natural creamy or crunchy, make sure it DOESN'T contain xylitol)
*4 Lg Eggs
*1/2 Cup Organic Coconut Oil (unrefined virgin coconut oil is best for consumption for people and dogs)
*1 Tbl Organic Cinnamon
Dry Ingredients (One or the other, **Add more or less oatmeal/flour if needed to get the thick consistency):
**8+ Cups Oatmeal
**4+ Cups Oatmeal
1 24oz Bag Gluten Free Rice Flour (brown or white rice flour, approx 3 1/2 cups)

  • In a 6qt stand mixer with paddle blade, mix all moist ingredients together on low-med, then add dry ingredients 1/2 Cup at a time on med until mixed.  Should be very thick.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line cookie sheet with parchment paper, use a teaspoon and scoop rounded scoops, roll into balls (approx 1 in in diameter), and bake for 10 min.
  • Remove right away and toss into a large bowl to cool.
  • Once cooled let your pet enjoy!

You can substitute 1 1/2 cups brewers yeast powder made for pets in place of the rice flour or oatmeal, this helps as a natural flea repellent (NOT a treatment, but repellent), but if you add this, they become non-human consumption friendly.

Ok, catch up...(Long post with pics and vids)

Ok, so it's time to play catch up...  We've been going non stop for a couple months now, and have at least another month to go before we slow down into a lull again.

Let's see, we went and got wood two more weekends after the last post. Had Halloween, had a game night, have tried to keep up on school work, crafts, and fun.

We went and got wood for two more weekends.  We took a long nice hike on one of those weekends.  The boys rode their bikes for two weekends up there.  We spent evenings around the fire and playing games together totally unplugged, except for a short limit of time each day when they were allowed to play on their tablets (mainly at for 1/2 hour right before breakfast and a 1/2 hour before bed). We took a long drive and went and seen a cool old hidden cabin that was lived in by some bank robbers back in the 50's/60's.  It was a pretty cool thing to see.

Then we had Halloween fun...we did a home-ec class and made cup cakes ourselves and with friends with a Halloween theme.  We also went trick or treating and had a blast, spent a whole day out on Halloween, and a few hours out the day before.  Trick or treating the business in Clarkston and an elderly retirement home.  It was a lot of fum.  Then on Halloween we did the pumpkin palooza and trick or treating as well. We even took the dogs trick or treating with us.

We caught a pack rat with the neighbor, and he's keeping her.  She's handle-able now though she's still skittish.
